I think it's also worth noting that when I saw Jandek perform in Richmond, Virginia back in 2007, someone informed me that the drummer backing him up (who if I am not mistaken also backed him up at Chapel Hill) was Mandy Moore's touring drummer prior to playing with Janky. Related? Possibly.

Well, while the Mandy Moore thing is indeed interesting, I don’t think it’s so out of the blue when you consider that she just got married to rocker Ryan Adams, the solo artist who used to be in Whiskeytown. He has some pretty decent taste, and he likes some far-out country and blues, so I have a feeling that the Jandek connection/influence came through Adams, rather than Jandek somehow popping up in Mandy Moore’s radar. It’s still cool, but I thought I’d point this out. 

And in terms of Moore covering a song, I’d love to see her and Adams do a version of “Painted Teeth.”

Catalog lists it at the standard double CD price.
 
It's awesome. it's really really really that good. I know I seem to say that a lot, and I am taken with everything that's out this year, but this one is extra special.

Well, Ricki Lee Jones and Andrew WK have both turned
up on a Current 93 album, so Mandy Moore showing up on a Jandek album proper
isn't totally outside the realm of possibility these days!
