i said something about the album called "the end of an
era" (obviously my thoughts are too scrambled after
this news) The End Of It All is what i meant of
course.

---------------------------------

i just got in from a day out at the instal 04 festival
in glasgow where jandek played his first ( i presume )
performance alongside alexander neilson on drums and
richard youngs on bass. i had no idea that jandek
would be playing and it was quite a surprise. totally
unexpected and i thought unfeasible that he would play
with other musicians. but it somehow worked really
well. they rehearsed beforehand, jandek played
electric guitar. and when they finished he
disappeared. i was moved to tears a few times. but
intrigued and slightly spooked by it all. i have been
listening to jandek for probably two years now, and
have every cd apart from his latest one. i was
surprised that his live performance was just like his
cds. like, he's for real man. i found him quite
sinister or perhaps creepy, but i think creepy is too
strong a word. he will issue the performance as an
album on corwood apparently and also a dvd of the gig.
he's also going to stay in touch with alex and richard
and maybe play some more in the future.
