I understand that he's used a professional engineer to master everything
since, I think, "Later On" (I could be wrong on that, but it's somewhere
around there). The early albums, obviously, were recorded elsewhere on a
variety of machines, but they were mastered at the distributor. Any such
noise on the CDs would be a result, perhaps, of tape deterioration or other
such factors. The trouble may be that they were remixed (this is obvious
from the variety of song lengths and various sections added or taken away
from some tracks), and this may have pushed unintentional distortion
forward. I would agree that, sadly, "Blue Corpse" suffers from this more
than most.
