Ed,
He's just an artist like any other artist creating his art. Just a normal guy with his own creative vision. I think its funny people think someone is insane because they decide to think outside the box and create unique or thought provoking music. Anyway my suggestion would be to get the first release Ready for the House to start with. Honestly I would just order them in order of the list. But another suggestion after ready for the house is 'blue corpse' its his most Accessible. Blue Corpse is one of the only releases with standard tuned guitar, and more conventional song structure.
