Has this been discussed before? The description of him in the Texas Monthly 
(is that what is called?) in his manner of dress and going to the bar and 
meeting like minded/dressed guys just smacks of looking/being like a Mormon. 
the way the "actor" of Jandek in the dramatization of his interview with 
John Trubee looks like one of those Mormons who goes door to door to spread 
their word. Even some of the album covers have him looking like one of those 
door to door guys..

Just a theory..
