I'm not sure what that has to do with anything, but that begs the question
"best at what?" As a soloist, I'd go with Mike Bloomfield, though a strong
case could be made for Tom Verlaine on a good night (also for a few dozen
others). For technique and versatility, Glen Campbell could probably beat
just about any guitar hero you could name. (At least before the 80s, when it
became Speed Uber Alles)
After all, you don't get to be a big name session musician by being
competent at one thing.
