Agree completely - this is fantastic stuff. I love 'Khartoum' especially -
the black voids of the eyes and mouth evoke a stark creepiness, but also
represent a visionary figure, communicating his dark words directly to
you...

The fact that you are not an artist (your words) is
the key here. You have just gone and done it and it
reveals the essence of Jandek, well at least for me
anyway.

I think the most successful works are:

Khartoum
You have captured the feel of the photo, but also
reducing all the detail of the photo by your method of
painting till only the essence of the image is left,
creating a bleak abstract painting of the photo.

Ready for the house
The painting has increased the garishness of the
photo. Creating a harsh emotional place.
