[Jandek] spin magazine article

Yeah, and the assassination of Franz Ferdinand (at the time grand
duke of Austria-Hungary, not King) and his wife Sophie by Serbian
terrorist Gavrilo Princip in Sarajevo in 1914 triggered the
diplomatic row between Austria and Russia that fomented World War I,
which begat the Bolshevik seizure of power in Russia, hyperinflation
in Germany and the rise of Naziism, each of which contributed to
World War II; itself the parent of the Cold War and the rise of
statist economic systems, failed-state nationalisms, and terrorist
movements from the Baader-Meinhofs, Red Brigades, and Islamacists.
All of which partially reflect the crisis in Western civilization
identified by writers and thinkers such as Fyodor Dostoevsky, Karl
Barth, Eric Voegelin, and F.A. von Hayek, and which (the
civilizational crisis, I mean) has been such a font of inspiration to
our Jandek.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
