I sort of agree with Kloot that Jandek comes from "another world", but I don't think comparisons to other artists are ridiculous. At the end of the day, it's all music, regardless of its creators' talents and/or intentions, and nothing's beyond comparison. 
 
Then of course, there's the school of art that says any comparison debases both works behind compared... but we can't go by that on a discussion list, now can we?
