I think the answer could also be none of the above. Barry Hanson (a/k/a Dr. Demento) was John Fahey's neighbor in the 60's and I believe they were close friends until Fahey's death. If I remember correctly, Demento was also Fahey's manager in the 60's/early 70's before the radio show.
