[Jandek] Introduction..., more Quinn Boys action.

I first heard Jandek late in the summer of 2001 on an
NPR show called Studio 360. I was drawing comics at my
desk and this weird-ass music comes on with this guy
talking about how it's horrifying at first but
eventually you get used to it like a hot bath, and
then Irwin Chusid's wonderful comment: "He's released
29 albums now. He's the equivalent of a tree that's
fallen in the forest- 29 times." I hastily wrote down
"Jendak" on the other side of a scrap of paper that
already had the name of Paul Mc Cartney CD one of my
parent's friends had been playing; he'd written it
down for them so they wouldn't forget. So it was Paul
on one side, Jandek on the other. Who says we can't
all get along?

On another note, my Jandek cover band the Quinn Boys
has broken up, so I put the remaining mp3s we'd made
on the website:
http://casualfridays.wofw.net/jandek_covers. Now
featuring (horrible) versions of "I'll Sit Alone and
Think a Lot About You", "Only Lover" (recorded very
late at night in a curious haze), and "European Jewel"
(the third song we ever recorded, pretty much
unbearable). So yeah, I know how to play seven Jandek
songs now, which is either impressive or pathetic,
depending on your point of view.
