[Jandek] The Helsinki Album Covers

I went to Helsinki earlier
this month, and decided to share some pics and information about the 3 album
covers so far that have been taken there.

 

0796 – Helsinki
Saturday

This picture was taken on Pohjoisranta, looking towards Laivastokatu
on the Katajanokka peninsula. 

 

0801 – Bristol
Wednesday 

As previously posted, this is an office building located at
Eteläesplanadi 12.

 

0803 -Toronto
Sunday

This picture was taken on Lönnrotinkatu near the Vanhan Kirkon
Puisto (Old Church Park)
at the Yrjönkatu intersection looking towards Mannerheimintie. The red brick
building is the old Stockmann department store (still in business, with new
additional buildings). The name is spelled out by the small, white, box-like dots
that can be seen between the red and brown buildings. Also, the image was clearly
altered to remove the brown tower behind the red building, which reveals the
Stockmann logo and flags. However, a friend who works near there advised that the
heavy shadow that falls across the street is possibly realistic, if caught at
the right time of day.
