Also, when it comes to the mysterious aspect of Jandek's chosen aesthetic 
in his work, it's not entirely new. I remember seeing the Residents in the 
80's in Minneapolis, and one of them came out and his face was not covered, 
but he had it so grotesquely bent up and distorted, it didn't reveal his 
identity. The Jandek persona doesn't seem too exposed by his recent live 
appearances, either.
